The La Conner Middle School in La Conner, Washington, recently got a new "student", a big gentle giant, Winston, thanks to Mary, the school's Special Education Director. Winston goes to school each day and spends time in the classroom with the kids, particularly those with special needs. Students who complete their work and meet their behavior goals are rewarded with the privilege of caring for Winston by walking him at lunch, brushing him, and playing with him outside. Winston also makes special visits to the high school and elementary schools, and after school is over, he often goes to the Boys and Girls club to play with the kids and supervise their "Canine Cookie" baking. After all, somebody has to be the “taste tester"! Winston's sweet nature and funny spotted tongue have made him one of the best friends you can have at this La Conner school! Winston was adopted from Three Rivers Rescue in Snoqualmie, Washington and donated by Kelly Tidwell of Guemes Island, Washington. He was raised by Wendy McDougal of Guemes Island, Washington.
