Melissa lives in Eugene, OR, and graduated with Shiloh in October of 2008. Shiloh, a shelter rescue dog, is always totally focused on Melissa, who has Cerebral Palsy, and she is eager to provide whatever support Melissa needs. She walks alongside Melissa’s wheelchair and is ready to retrieve things, open and close doors, tug off clothes, get the phone and wear a backpack with items Melissa might need. With the help of her service dog, Melissa’s pain has decreased and her energy has increased, allowing her to be more physically active and explore a wider range of interests. She also gets unconditional love from her canine partner.
