Vicki, who lives on Lopez Island, Washington, received Daisy in 2008 as a therapy dog for her classroom of children with special needs. Lopez Island is a small, close-knit community, and Daisy is well known everywhere and provides comfort and cuddling for everyone she comes in contact with. More recently, Vicki sustained a serious spinal injury and was pleasantly surprised at how much assistance Daisy naturally provided, even though she was trained only as a therapy dog, not a service dog.
