Eric, who lives in Ballard, WA, was partnered with Titus,
a handsome Golden Retriever, in 2009. Eric survived a skiing
accident in 1998 that left him with a spinal cord injury
and the resultant quadriplegia. This young man went from
being an active sportsman to living a sedentary life of frustration
and depression. It took him a few years to decide to get
a service dog. He now has Titus, who goes to work with him
every day to his job in downtown Seattle as a graphic designer
for a video game production company. Titus opens doors
for Eric, picks up dropped items and is responsive to any
other task Eric may need help with. He has become the “darling”
of the office, but Eric is his first priority. Because of
the independence his partnership with Titus has given him,
Eric has even moved into his own home.
