Five dogs were going to new homes through the Summit Assistance Dogs after a two-week training session March 31 through Aprill 11 at Summit Park Grange.

The nonprofit organization based in Anacortes trains dogs to assist people with disabilities.

In the two-week training session, the new owners learn proper care, canine massage, handling and 50 to 60 commands the canines spent two years learning with their trainers.
